USA spurs new tornadoes, some dead

In the north of Texas (USA), a series of strong storms on June 21 produced many tornadoes that caused loss of life. AP reports.

Matador Mayor Pat Smith said at least three people were killed and there was “a lot of damage.”

It was noted that Rolling Plains recorded massive power outages, including more than 700 customers without power in the Jayton area. The most significant damage was in Matadora – a city of about 570 people 112 kilometers northeast of Lubbock in Motley County.

The storms also brought tennis-ball-sized hail and winds in excess of 161 mph to other communities, including Jayton, according to the Lubbock National Weather Service.

It will be remembered that as a result of a tornado in the United States, three people died, dozens were injured. Homes and businesses were also damaged.

It is also reported that in the United States 50 million people are at risk of tornadoes.
