This is reported by the British newspaper Times.
Finland’s main duty is to help Ukraine […] It is morally wrong to continue to provide development assistance to countries that support Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Ville Tavio, the new Minister of Trade and International Development of Finland, told the Times.
As the newspaper recalls, the new government of Finland, headed by the center-right Pettari Orpo and with nationalists from the True Finns party (Tavio is from this party), intends to cut state spending altogether, including aid, which now stands at 1.25. billion dollars in year.
The correspondent of the Times notes that it is not yet clear who and according to what criteria Finland will write down as fans of Russia and deprive them of help.
The main recipients of Finnish money are Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Nepal, and they have not yet shown much sympathy for Moscow.
