Dudin did not work to protect the city from the early days of a comprehensive war, but only thought of himself personally, the president said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy fired the head of the SBU department in the Kharkiv region, Roman Dudin, for negligent performance of his official duties and promised an investigation by law enforcement officials. This was stated in the President’s speech on the night of May 29.

“I held a meeting with the leadership of the region, the city. I thanked them for being and staying with the people of Kharkiv, along with Ukraine and – which is very important now – with each other. They have one hundred percent cooperation: army, police, Kharkiv mayor, the regional state administration – everyone is working for success and doing it very effectively, ”he said.

However, unfortunately, the same can not be said about the local leadership by the Security Service of Ukraine, Zelensky added.

“I came, I thought to myself, fired the head of the regional security service for not working to protect the city from the early days of a massive war, but only thinking to myself personally. Enforcement officials will know of the law what motive, ”said the president.

Earlier today it was reported that Zelensky arrived in Kharkiv. Upon learning of this, Russia fired on the city.

Roman Dudin was appointed by Zelensky to the post of head of the SBU department in the Kharkiv region on March 25, 2020.

He was born on March 13, 1983 in the Dnipro. After serving in the army, he worked in the SBU department in the Dnepropetrovsk region. In 2013, he moved to the main office in Kyiv.
