In Copenhagen, they planned to allocate more than three billion dollars for Kyiv over five years.
Danish authorities will allocate $3.21 billion in aid to Ukraine in the period 2023-2028. This was announced on Monday, June 19, by the country’s Ministry of Defense.
“I am proud that Denmark continues to make a significant contribution. Ukraine remains highly dependent on military aid,” said Acting Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
It was mentioned that the funds allocated for humanitarian, economic and military needs will be allocated to Ukraine through the Ukrainian Fund of Denmark.
The funds for the Fund will be distributed in such a way that Denmark will support Ukraine with an additional DKK 7.5 billion in 2023, DKK 10.4 billion in 2024 and DKK 1 billion annually in 2025-2028.
The significant increase in support for Ukraine means that Denmark has allocated funds in 2023 and 2024 to meet NATO’s goals of spending 2% of GDP on defense and security.
Recall that in May, Denmark increased funding for the Ukraine Support Fund by $2.6 billion.
