Navalny published a post on his social networks in which he announced the launch of a major campaign against the war and Putin.
A new trial has begun in the Russian Federation against Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Now he faces up to 30 years in prison for “extremism.” It was reported by Mediazon, which positions itself as an independent publication.
The first session of the court was held itself in one of the areas of Colony No. 6 in the Vladimir Region, where Navalny is serving his “punishment” under the previous sentences.
Navalny is accused of creating an “extremist community”, calling for “extremism”, creating a non-profit organization that violates the rights of citizens, financing extremism, involving minors in dangerous activities, and rehabilitation of Nazism.
Along with Navalny, the former technical director of the Navalny Live YouTube channel Daniel Kholodny was put on trial.
Journalists, as well as Navalny’s parents, were not allowed into the courtroom. Initially, a video broadcast with low sound was conducted for them, the publication assured, adding that the broadcast was later turned off completely.
Navalny himself published a post on his social networks in which he announced the launch of a major campaign against the war and Putin.
“We will conduct an election campaign against the war. And against Putin. That’s right. A long, patient, tiring, but important campaign, where we will turn the people against the war,” he said.
Recall that Navalny is in correctional colony No. 6 in the Vladimir region of Russia. Last March, he was sentenced to an additional nine years in prison for fraud and contempt of court.
