On June 9, Montoyu was hospitalized with a suspected stroke and cardiac arrest. Doctors tried to help the woman, but she did not respond to resuscitation measures. As a result, they pronounced him dead.
On the same day, the relatives took the woman’s body to the funeral home, but while preparing for the burial, they noticed that she was still breathing. Montoya was then taken back to the hospital. As for the doctors, they began to check.
On June 16, Montoya died in the intensive care unit at the Babaoyo City Hospital, where she was declared dead for the first time. The death of the woman was confirmed by her relatives. According to the Ministry of Health of the country, the cause of death is ischemic stroke.
BBC News, citing local media, reports that the woman’s body has already been buried in a public cemetery. The ceremony was handled by the same funeral home that had arranged Montoya’s first funeral.
