Poland remains one of Ukraine’s main allies in the military confrontation with the Russian Federation.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the leader of Poland Andrzej Duda discussed the situation at the front, the supply of weapons for the Ukrainian defenders and Ukraine’s entry into NATO. This was announced on Wednesday, June 14, by the Ukrainian leader in Twitter.
He noted that in addition to urgent needs, he and his colleague focused on issues of further joint work on Ukraine’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance.
The President said that Poland “sees the need for Ukraine’s membership in NATO as very realistic and Kyiv, together with Warsaw, is developing concrete content for the Alliance summit in Vilnius.”
“This is the exact moment when Russian assumptions that someone in NATO is still afraid of Russia must be completely shattered. Such assumptions feed Russia’s aggressive ambitions. We have and can let’s neutralize them. Thanks to Poland for supporting Ukraine and strengthening NATO,” Zelensky noted.
Poland handed Ukraine 10 large water tanks and 10 high-performance pumps for pumping water from areas flooded as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant by the Russians.
