The Ukrainian military shared how Ukrainian helicopter pilots practice unguided missiles at hostile positions. On the footage you can see the work of the 11th separate brigade of army aviation “Kherson”. The video appeared on June 14 on the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As you know, the Mi-24 is one of the most famous Soviet attack helicopters in the world, which received the unofficial nickname “Crocodile”. It has been produced since 1971. The Mi-24 was the first Soviet helicopter specially designed to provide fire support for the ground forces and put into mass production.
Its crew is three people, and the passenger capacity is up to eight people. The flight range of the Crocodile is up to 450 km, and the cruising speed is 250 km/h. On board it carries GSh-23, GSh-30K or YakB-12.7 cannon mounts, mounts with machine guns or grenade launchers guided by anti-tank or anti-aircraft missiles, unguided missile units, cluster and high-explosive bombs weighing from 50 to 500 kg.
Recall that Ukrainian military journalists showed how American-made M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems work on the front line. The film crew of the “Military Television of Ukraine” talked with the crew of the “Haymars” and went with them to combat work.
