In 2022, 8,500 dollar millionaires were left in Russia because of the dangers in their capital after the mass invasion of Ukraine. This year, the influx is expected to be at the level of 3,000 wealthy people. This is confirmed by the data of the study Private Wealth Migration Report 2023 by the British consulting company Henley & Partners.
However, in the first place in terms of the migration of millionaires is China. Last year, 10,800 people left the country. This year’s outflow is expected to be 13,500 millionaires. For China, such an outflow is critical because China’s economic growth has slowed.
In second place in terms of migration of millionaires is India. In 2022, 7,500 million people left the country, this year the outflow is expected to be 6,500 people. However, in this country the number of new millionaires is growing faster than the number of rich emigrants.
The study showed that Australia (+3800 in 2022 and +5200 in 2023), the United Arab Emirates (+5200 and +4500 respectively) and Singapore (+2900 and +3200) remain the most attractive for millionaires.
It will be remembered that the total wealth of all dollar millionaires in the world in 2021 increased by 7.8% and reached $86 trillion.
