A diving yacht with 29 people on board exploded in the Red Sea. Three British tourists were killed.
Three Britons died on Sunday, June 11, in a fire on a diving yacht off the coast of the Red Sea in Egypt. This was reported by The Guardian.
The fire broke out as the group sailed past the popular diving site of Elphinstone Reef, about 12 km from the coast and 30 km from the resort town of Marsa Alam.
According to local authorities, the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the boat’s electrical supply.
12 divers and 14 crew members of the ship, which was in a briefing at the time, were rescued. And three British citizens who did not participate in the diving briefing died.
On May 28, a tourist boat carrying more than 20 passengers sank off Italy. The boat capsize killed two Italian intelligence agents and a retired member of the Israeli security forces.
