Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Kyiv on June 10 for an unannounced visit. He has already met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trudeau also laid a wreath at the memorial to those who died in the war against Ukraine.
He arrived with Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland.
Trudeau arrived in the Ukrainian capital as the government of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tries to assess the damage and organize further evacuation of the population after the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric dam.
Trudeau began his visit to Kyiv by laying flowers at the Wall of Remembrance for fallen soldiers in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
This is Trudeau’s second visit to Ukraine since the start of the large-scale Russian invasion in February 2022. The last time the Canadian prime minister visited Kyiv was in May 2022.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with the Canadian leader, in which he discussed a program of long-term defense cooperation, and also noted the beginning of the confiscation of Russian assets in Canada.
At the end of April, the Canadian government announced new military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of CAD 39 million ($28.9 million).
