The Kakhovka irrigation system, which supplied water to an area of more than 250,000 hectares, lost its only source of irrigation.
Today, June 9, in the south of Ukraine, 350 pumping stations, reclamation canals with a total length of more than 1,100 km were left without a source of irrigation. Water intake pipes are no longer submerged in water, but “hang” in the air. This was reported by the press service of the State Agency for Land Reclamation and Fisheries of Ukraine.
“The largest in Ukraine and Europe, as well as one of the largest in the world, the Kakhovka irrigation system, which supplied water to an area of more than 250 thousand hectares, lost its only source of irrigation. In total, “The Kakhovka reservoir fed water to more than 30 irrigation systems in Kherson, Zaporozhye and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The total area of irrigated land is more than 580,000 hectares,” said the report.
The agency reports that thanks to water from the Kakhovka reservoir, corn, soybeans, rapeseed, wheat, eggplant, onion, pepper, cucumber and other crops have been successfully grown in the dry southern steppes.
“The consequences of the “Russian world” clearly prove the true racist essence,” added the press service of the agency.
