The offensive by Russian troops in Kyiv ended in failure due to logistical problems, according to the United States.
Russia’s recent victories in the Donbass are associated with the fact that Russian troops are advancing over a smaller territory, as well as with the geography of the area. This was announced on Friday, May 27, by Pentagon Speaker John Kirby, author of European Truth.
He recalled that the offensive of Russian troops in Kyiv ended in failure due to logistical problems, as a result of which the convoy of equipment was stretched tens of kilometers away from support sources.
“Donbass is a different territory. It’s flatter, more open, with lots of farms, small towns and villages,” Kirby said.
The representative of the US Department of Defense added that Russia’s advance in the Donbass was limited by the fact that the troops did not want to break away from the supply chains.
“Another reason why they are slowly moving forward is, of course, not only because of Ukrainian resistance, but also because they don’t want to move too far from sources of supply,” the Pentagon spokesman explained.
At the same time, the Pentagon does not believe that Russia has fully coped with the problems of offensive – management, ensuring the integration of ground and air operations.
“They can’t possibly get them,” Kirby summed up.
Earlier, Biden listed Putin’s failures in the war against Ukraine.
