The representative of the Russian Federation, Vasily Nebenzya, tried to convince those present that Ukraine allegedly blew up the hydroelectric power station, but the Albanian ambassador put him in his place.
Russia has been caught in a lie again and again. And the Russian statements about the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station seem to Ukrainians from the same category. This is what the Permanent Representative of Albania to the UN Ferit Hoxha said at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
Yes, the representative of the Russian Federation, Vasily Nebenzya, tried to convince the audience that it was Ukraine that allegedly blew up the hydroelectric power station, but the Albanian ambassador put him in his place.
“How many times have we heard since January, February last year that Russia does not intend to attack Ukraine until the shameless attack … That Russia has never attacked civilians, except for 20,000 dead and wounded Ukrainians, as well as millions forced to leave their homes,” said Ferit Hoxha.
He also recalled the Russian Federation’s lies about Ukrainian biological laboratories, fighting mosquitoes, bats and birds, “dirty bombs” that never existed.
“We see every day and every night that Russia has made no effort to destroy Ukraine’s infrastructure. So why should the explosion of this hydroelectric power station be an exception?”
He stressed that the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station by the invaders will have long-term consequences for the environment not only in Ukraine, but also in neighboring states. There is also a great danger of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
The Albanian representative stressed that those involved in the destruction of Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure should be held accountable.
Recall that on the night of June 6, the Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. About 80 communities are under the threat of flooding. An evacuation is underway.
In Novaya Kakhovka, five of the seven people who disappeared due to flooding died. In the village of Vasilievka, Mykolaiv region, a man died.
