600 square kilometers of the Kherson region are under water, of which 32% is on the right bank and 68% is on the left bank.
The average level of flooding in the Kherson region after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station this morning reached 5.61 meters, almost two-thirds of the flood was on the left bank. This was announced by the head of Kherson OVA Alexander Prokudin on Telegram on June 8.
“In the morning, the average flood level is 5.61 meters. There are 600 square kilometers of Kherson region under water, of which 32% is on the right bank and 68% is on the left bank,” he said.
Recall that on the night of June 6, the Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. As a result, the hydroelectric power plant was completely destroyed by the waves of the Kakhovka reservoir.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believes that the Russian military blew up the structures of the hydroelectric power station to prevent the advance of Ukrainian units.
Russia, as expected, denied the allegations against the Russian military, accusing Ukraine of “deliberate sabotage.”
