Earlier, the ore, worth 10 million hryvnias, owned by a group of Russian companies, was seized.
About 2,500 tons of Russian iron ore were transferred for sale to the National Agency of Ukraine for Identification, Tracing and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA). This was reported by the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
“Funds from the sale of iron ore pellets will be used in the interests of Ukraine,” the message said.
Previously, for mineral worth UAH 10 million owned by the Russian group of companies JSC Holding company JSC Metalloinvest, was arrested. According to the investigation, economic entities of the Russian Federation imported iron ore into the customs territory of Ukraine and planned to transport it by sea to third countries for the purpose of its further sale. But it was not possible to sell the goods, law enforcement officials found the hidden raw materials on the territory of one of the train stations of the Odessa Railway and took them in searches.
It will be remembered that hundreds of tons of Russian steel were confiscated in Ukraine.
It was also reported that three million dollars of the sanctioned Russian oligarch was transferred to ARMA.
