The new infrastructure will help quickly restore centralized water supply to cities and villages.
In Ukraine, three sections of the water pipeline, 87 kilometers long, will be built to restore the centralized water supply of cities and villages that have had water supply problems due to the weakening of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station dam. This was reported by the State Agency for the Rehabilitation and Development of Infrastructure on Wednesday, June 7.
The water pipeline will exceed 300 thousand cubic meters. m of water per day with the possibility of increasing the amount of water supply.
The department recalled that yesterday the government decided to allocate 1.5 billion Hryvnia for the construction of major water pipelines in southern Ukraine.
The head of the Restoration Agency, Mustafa Nayem, said that construction will begin after agreeing on the route of the water pipeline, taking into account the existing communications.
“We plan to start building the pipeline, pumping stations as soon as possible, clean and deepen the water channel. Our first step is to agree on the route of its passage, taking into account the development of settlements and existing communications. Then we will start working on the documentation of the project. After the geological and geodetic work, we will have a clearer picture and we will determine exactly how long it will take to complete such a large-scale project,” he said.
It was noted that due to the decrease in the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir, a significant part of the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Nikolaev and Kherson regions will remain without water supply. The infrastructure planned for construction will provide high-quality drinking water to residents of Nikopol, Marganets, Krivoy Rog, Tomakovka, Maryansky and Pokrov.
Recall that yesterday the Cabinet of Ministers created a special commission that will deal with the elimination of the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
