The new defense minister emphasized that the security of the Black Sea region depends on the consequences of a full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine.
Newly appointed Bulgarian Defense Minister Todor Tagarev said his country will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine in the fight against the Russians. On Tuesday, June 6, the BTA agency wrote this.
Speaking about the security of the Black Sea region, he emphasized that it depends on whether Ukraine wins.
“We will have security when the last aggressor leaves the border of Ukraine, and the aggressive intentions of the Kremlin will be blocked. This is the only way to guarantee the peace of our region and our future,” Tagarev said.
According to Tagarev, assistance to Ukraine should be provided both within the framework of decisions among allies and at the initiative of Bulgaria.
“We must do what is necessary both to strengthen our defense capabilities and to provide assistance to Ukraine so that it can continue what it has started – to liberate its territories during the counteroffensive,” Tagarev said.
It should be noted that against the backdrop of a prolonged political crisis in Bulgaria, the parliamentary blocs GERB-SDS and Continue Changes – Democratic Bulgaria approved the composition of the new government, which will work for nine months, headed by Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov.
We will remind, Bulgaria earlier said that it was forced to partially withdraw from the sanctions against the Russian Federation. The country’s government says it has yet to find a replacement for Russia
