A network of companies and officials helped Tehran develop its ballistic missile program.
The US has imposed sanctions on seven individuals and six entities in Iran, China and Hong Kong for their support of Iran’s new ballistic missile program. This was officially announced by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury.
“This network conducted financial transactions and facilitated the acquisition of sensitive and critical components and technology for key participants in Iran’s ballistic missile development program,” the statement said.
Deliveries were made to the Ministry of Defense and Logistics of the Iranian Armed Forces (MODAFL), as well as its subsidiaries – Parchin Chemicals Industries (PCI), Aerospace Industries Organization (AIO), Iran Electronics Industries (IEI) and PB. Sadr.
The US Treasury also imposed sanctions on an Iranian defense attaché in Beijing who coordinated military purchases from China for Iranian end users.
Recall that the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury placed the Russian Ivan Maslov, who is the head of the PIK Wagner group in Mali, on the sanctions list.
