The Ombudsman believes that in this way the UN encourages Russians to be more cruel.
Nine hours after the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by the Russian invaders, the UN decided to respond to this without in any way remembering Russia.
Netizens were outraged by the announcement. They suggested that the UN “continue to celebrate the Day of the Russian Language”, “no longer talk about ecocide” and jokingly noted that “to write about such tactless things on the Day of the Russian Language.”
People assured that this message “does not help the UN save its reputation” because it “does not name the person from whom people need to be protected”, referring to Russia.
Recall that in the morning the UN decided to congratulate the Russians on the Speech Day in this organization.
The official Twitter account of Ukraine also congratulated the UN on Russian Language Day.
Meanwhile, Ukraine initiates a meeting of the UN Security Council because of the Russian bombing of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhiy Kyslitsa told the Public that Ukraine has already sent an urgent request to the Security Council and is awaiting its response.
The Foreign Ministry also reported that “the issues of the Russian terrorist attack” will be raised at a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors and will involve the EU civil protection mechanism.
In addition, Ukraine will demand from the West new sanctions against the Russian Federation because of the crime that its military committed on the night of June 6.
