In some places the water level can rise up to five meters.
Currently, the Korabel microdistrict is partially flooded. For safety reasons, electricity and gas supplies were turned off in the area.
The occupied Novaya Kakhovka is also heavily flooded, the water here has reached the city center. Earlier, the Kherson regional military administration stated that the authorities could not help with the evacuation of residents of the occupied territory, so citizens should get to safe places themselves.
The State Emergency Service reported that more than 650 people were evacuated in the Kherson region as of 13.00, another 420 people managed to evacuate on their own.
Recall that on the night of June 6, Russian invaders remotely blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, which created a mortal danger for Ukrainians in settlements on both banks of the Dnieper below the Kakhovka reservoir. Ukrhydroenergo said that the station was completely destroyed and cannot be restored.
Due to the explosion of a hydroelectric power station, 150 tons of machine lubricant got into the Dnieper.
