Third-year students of the Civil Protection University died as a result of an artillery shell explosion on Pion’s self-propelled guns. This was announced on Monday, June 5, by the deputy head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, the head of the investigative department, Sergey Bolvinov.
According to him, the investigation establishes exactly how the live projectile hit the educational building on the territory of the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining.
“Our investigators, forensic experts and explosives experts have already worked at the scene, collecting material evidence, especially the remains. It will be remembered that on May 31, an unknown explosive device exploded on the premises of one of the training units of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the explosion, two third-year cadets (21 and 22 years old) of the Civil Protection University died from their injuries in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Another third-year cadet (20 years old) was injured.
It was previously reported that a 19-year-old cadet shot himself at the Khmelnytsky border academy.
