“We found out that he (Kozub, – ed.) was detained on Wednesday (May 31, – ed.). Our lawyers are convinced that there is no journalistic or political subtext in this case. And having familiarity with the materials of the case , we can say which, of course, we do not accept. His last day of work was May 26, the same day he was fired, then we did not know about the article of prosecution, and now we know the surprising information from the media,” said the editor-in-chief.
In addition, the publication published an official position on this situation. In particular, they noted that Kozub is now no longer an employee of Vesti. The media again noted that this message “came as a shock to them.”

The trial on the selection of the measure of detention took place on Friday, June 2. The suspect was predestined to be detained with a bail of UAH 214,000. He now faces up to eight years in prison.
