When the video talks about how the conflict could easily become global, a map appears with a red silhouette of Ukraine, with Crimea outlined in green, like all other territories.
A video titled “It’s time for peace” appeared on the Hungarian government’s YouTube channel, talking about the war in Ukraine. At the same time, Crimea on the map of our state, used in the video, is not marked as part of Ukraine. It caught the attention of the Friday, June 2, Hungarian edition of Nepszava.
The video shows footage of destruction on Ukrainian territory, and the voice-over says that it can only be stopped by a “ceasefire.”
“Tens of thousands of children have been orphaned, hundreds of thousands of homes have been destroyed, more than ten million people have been forced to flee their homes, but the war continues and could easily become global,” the voiceover said.
These words were accompanied by untitled video footage of refugee children and women, tanks, and a map of Ukraine obscured by a mushroom cloud.
“Enough war, only a ceasefire can end the destruction, only peaceful negotiations can save lives. It is time for peace,” he said.
The words about negotiations are depicted on a picture with three flags: Ukraine, USA and Russia. At the same time, in the picture, the flag of the aggressor country is in the middle.
Now this video has got more than 80 thousand views. No reaction yet from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Remember, Orban said that Ukraine cannot win the war with Russia, and it doesn’t matter who attacked whom.
Earlier, Orban reacted negatively to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s statement about Ukraine’s future in the alliance. The Prime Minister of Hungary called Ukraine a “non-existent country”.
