The people of Kiev continue to publish information about the inaccessibility of shelters, the president said.
In the capital, part of the shelters are still not accessible to people, and in some parts of the city they are still not there. This level of carelessness cannot be excused. This is what the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in an evening video message on Friday, June 2.
“A bet has been made. Urgent security issues. There is clearly a strong reaction to the death of people in Kiev due to the closed shelter. There is an instruction to review protective structures in Kiev and across the country,” the leader said of the state.
According to Zelensky, Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko and Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshin are responsible for this.
“Unfortunately, even now, after all, the people of Kiev repeatedly publish information about inaccessible shelters. city,” said the president.
Zelensky emphasized that this level of neglect in the city cannot be covered by any excuses.
Recall that on the night of June 1, during the rocket attack of the Russian invaders in Kyiv, three people were killed, including a 9-year-old child. Residents tried to get into the shelter of a polyclinic in the Desnyansky district, but the door was closed.
On this fact, criminal proceedings were initiated. Police reported suspicions to four detainees.
Zelensky promised a “firm response” to the loss of life. At the same time, he hinted at the capital’s mayor, former boxer Vitali Klitschko, mentioning that “there could be a knockout.”
