Russian commanders are now faced with a dire dilemma: strengthen their defenses on Russia’s borders or strengthen their positions in occupied Ukraine.
British Ministry of Defence reportedthat partisan incursions into Russian territory have put Moscow in a dilemma: defend its territory or leave troops in the occupied regions of Ukraine.
It was noted that on June 1, partisan detachments attacked the Belgorod region of Russia for the second time ten days later. In a difficult battlefield environment, unmanned aerial vehicles also launched strikes in Belgorod (35 km deep in Russia), and authorities evacuated civilians from the border town of Shebekino after the shooting.
According to British intelligence, Russian military and internal forces are likely to have more rapid success in stopping this invasion than in the past. The Russian Ministry of Defense has deployed on its territory a full range of fire weapons, including attack helicopters and the TOS-1A heavy thermobaric rocket launcher.
“Russian commanders are now faced with a sharp dilemma: to strengthen the defense on Russia’s borders or strengthen their positions in occupied Ukraine,” the British Ministry of Defense said in a report.
It will be recalled that the fighters of the Legion of Freedom of Russia and the Russian Volunteer Corps said that they launched a second attack in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
According to the Institute for the Study of War ISW, the reaction of the Russian authorities to the second invasion of the Russian Volunteer Corps in the Belgorod region indicates an increase in anxiety in Russian society.
