The Russian checkpoint Shebekino was allegedly attacked by tanks. Local authorities claim shelling is underway.
The battle is taking place in the area of the Shebekino border checkpoint in the Belgorod Region. This was reported on the morning of June 1 by Russian Telegram channels.
“There is fighting on the border between Russia and Ukraine. According to preliminary data, saboteurs attacked the Shebekino checkpoint with the help of tanks. Border guards and fighters of the Russian Defense Ministry stopped them,” Baza wrote.
It was noted that near Maslova Pristan the road was blocked in the direction of Shebekino, which was under shelling at night. In the past, one of the shells hit the building of the local Ministry of the Interior, some residents decided to leave.
In addition, representatives of the Freedom of Russia Legion (LSR) and the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDC) made statements about “operations” in the Belgorod region.
In the morning, LSR fighters announced that they moved to the territory of the Russian Federation to “bring freedom, peace and tranquility.”
“Our brothers send greetings from the Ukrainian-Russian border. Our struggle continues. Wait for us!” – said the publication.
RDC representatives announced the beginning of the promised “second phase of the operation.”
“Putin’s army has hit the squares again, although this time they are not peaceful Ukrainian cities, but Russian towns and villages. Stay in your homes or go to the shelter! RDK did not fight and will not fighting civilians!” – said the appeal.
Earlier, the governor of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that the city of Shebekino “is under constant fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
