The Prime Minister of the Netherlands called Pridnestrovie a territory under Russian occupation.

    .

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte noted that the leaders arrived at the summit in Moldova, which is very close to Ukraine, where many atrocities are committed.

Indeed, Moldova is also partly occupied by Russia. And the fact that we are here – the leaders of more than 40 countries – is evidence that we will support this country, we will support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression,” the Prime Minister of the Netherlands said in a conversation with the media at the beginning of the ongoing summit of the European Political Community. in Moldova.

Rutte said that an important issue on the agenda will be military assistance, including an increase in the number of Patriot air defense systems that Ukraine has.

Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelensky said at the summit that Ukraine and Moldova will be together in the European Union.

The European integration of Ukraine and Moldova will lead to the accession of both states to the EU, the President of Ukraine told reporters in Moldova after bilateral talks with his Moldovan counterpart Maia Sandu on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit.

We talked about our European future. Ukraine today ensures the security of Moldova, and we are very grateful for this,” Maia Sandu added.

She also supported the so-called “peace formula” in the Ukrainian vision.

Recall that on June 1, the summit of the European Political Community (EPC) began in Moldova.

The ENP, a platform for political and strategic discussions about the future of Europe, was proposed by French President Macron in May 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The group first met on October 6, 2022 in Prague, Czech Republic. In addition to the EU member states, the community included Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iceland, Moldova, Turkey, Ukraine and the UK. Russia and Belarus were deliberately excluded from participation.

The second ENP summit takes place on June 1 in Moldova. Almost fifty European presidents and heads of government are expected to arrive in Moldova. The personal participation of the President of Ukraine was not officially confirmed until recently for security reasons. Zelensky confirmed his visit this morning.

The second meeting will discuss joint efforts for peace in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, the defense of democracy, the strengthening of energy security and the resilience of European states.

Moldova introduced unprecedented security measures: for the duration of the summit, they limited the operation of transport, closed the airspace for all civil aircraft, with the exception of official aircraft, and canceled the movement of some international trains. The skies above the summit venue will be guarded by NATO long-range radar surveillance aircraft.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the summit.
