The representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Yuriy Ignat, explained why Ukraine does not attack targets on the territory of Russia, in particular, does not destroy the Iskander-M OTRK launchers.

    .

As the leadership of the state says, there is a strategy – we promised our partners not to attack the armed forces that are provided to us, – Ignat said in a commentary to Ukrinform.

At the same time, according to the speaker of the Air Force, in the event of missile launches from the temporarily occupied territories, Ukraine will use all available weapons.

Ignat said that Russia now has a shortage of Iskander missiles, otherwise their number during the shelling would be much larger.

They have a deficit. If they hadn’t spared them, they would have used them by the hundreds,” said an Air Force spokesman.

Recall that on the night of June 1, the air defense forces of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed seven Iskander-M ballistic missiles and three Iskander-K cruise missiles, which Russia fired at Kiev at night. As a result of the fall of rocket fragments in the capital, 19 people were injured, three of them died.

The Iskander missile system is designed to engage combat units in conventional equipment of small and flat targets deep in the operational territory of enemy troops. It is assumed that it can be a delivery vehicle for tactical nuclear weapons.
