Law enforcement officers exhumed the body of a man who died from torture in one of the dungeons set up by Russian invaders in Kherson.

This was announced on May 31 by the Office of the Attorney General.
In the spring of 2022, during the temporary capture of Kherson, Russian war criminals illegally detained one of the local residents. The man was placed in the basement of the building, equipped by the invaders for the imprisonment and torture of citizens.
According to preliminary data, torture was used on the victim for two weeks, resulting in death. During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers established the burial place of the tortured and exhumed the body. Law enforcement officers revealed signs of multiple injuries, including fractured ribs.
The victim’s body has been sent for a forensic medical examination.
Criminal proceedings were opened on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation continues.
Recall that in the Kherson region, the existence of 11 dungeons and eight places of mass illegal detention was confirmed. 600 victims who were in these places were identified.
The verification of the existence of 55 places of mass illegal detention of people and dungeons found in the liberated territories of Ukraine, and about 60 in the occupied territories, continues.
