Igor Dodon will leave the territory of Moldova, according to the prosecutor for the fight against corruption.
In Chisinau, the Ciocana district court partially granted the prosecutor’s request for the arrest of former President Igor Dodon. He was placed under house arrest for 30 days as a measure of detention. This was reported by Point.md on Thursday, May 26th.
At the meeting, Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Petru Yarmaliuc said Dodon intended to leave Moldova.
“Today, at 9:00, Dodon will leave the country. Large amounts of foreign money were found, indicating that he intended to leave the territory of the Republic of Moldova,” the prosecutor said.
It will be recalled that on May 24, anti-corruption prosecutors, along with employees of the SIS and National Anticorruption Center, searched the house of Igor Dodon. On the same day, he and his brother -in -law were jailed for 72 hours.
The searches are part of a case known as “Kulek.” Dodon is suspected under articles of passive corruption, receiving political party funding of a criminal organization, high treason and illicit enrichment.
