The head of state discussed the aviation coalition with the Dutch prime minister and congratulated the Turkish president on his election victory.
On Monday, May 29, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held two telephone conversations: with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte and the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This was stated in the evening address of the head of state.
Together with Rutte, he discussed the aviation coalition, thanked the Netherlands for its support and told him about the Russian strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
“We discussed our defense cooperation – our new aviation coalition, the coalition of modern fighters that we are making. And we will do it! Of course, we also discussed strengthening our air defense,” Zelensky said.
The head of state also spoke with Turkish President Erdogan and congratulated him on his election victory.
“I am sure that our further cooperation – Ukraine and Turkey – at all levels will bring more benefits to our people and international stability. The security of our region and all of Europe, world food security, protection of the basic norms of international law – this is what we did, are doing and will do together,” Zelensky added.
Remember, on May 28, the second round of presidential elections was held in Turkey. Incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won with 52.16% of the vote. 47.9% of voters voted for Kilicdaroglu.
Erdogan sang a victory song and, addressing his fans at the rally, thanked everyone who voted for him.
