The aggressor country was forced to make serious efforts to get away from trusting the Ukrainian side.
Since 2014, Russia has spent approximately 160 billion rubles to replace defense imports from Ukraine, which is equivalent to approximately $ 2.5 billion at the current exchange rate. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov, Interfax reports on Thursday, May 26.

“Since 2014, we have been forced to make serious efforts to get away from hope, first of all, on the Ukrainian side. About 160 billion rubles have been spent on it,” Borisov said.
He recalled that Russia annually spends approximately 1.5 trillion on weapons on average.
“That is, it’s an additional 10%. This is a very serious amount,” Borisov stressed.
The official added that “some results have been achieved, but we want, of course, more.”
Borisov said that in total since 2015, Russia has spent approximately 3.5 trillion rubles (more than $ 54 billion – ed.) On import substitution. Approximately 440 billion rubles of them are budget funds, the rest are extra-budgetary resources, borrowed funds and funds from the Industrial Development Fund.
Recall that because of the war, the demand for Ukrainian weapons increased in the world. At the same time, after the failures of the Russian army in Ukraine, very few people are willing to buy Russian weapons.
