In Bakhmut itself, PMC Wagner has withdrawn its units, and the regular army is entering their place.
The intensity of the offensive of the Russian army near Bakhmut decreased significantly. At the same time, the Russians are trying to strengthen their units in this area. This was announced on Monday, May 29, by Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar.
“The intensity of the enemy’s offensive operations has significantly decreased, because he is replacing the troops from the Wagnerites with regular units and trying to strengthen the defense in this direction.
According to him, the intensity of artillery shelling has not decreased. Meanwhile, in Bakhmut itself, the PMC Wagner its units were removed, in their place was the regular army.
As Malyar said, Ukrainian troops control the outskirts of the city in the southwestern part in the Airplane area.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, enemy units are also being replaced in the north of the suburb of Bakhmut. To the south of the city, the Russian invaders are trying to strengthen and form army units. At the same time, the advance on the flanks from yesterday and this morning was not carried out due to the performance of other tasks.
Recall that analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believe that the rotation of Russian troops near Bakhmut will reduce the speed of their offensive operations along the Avdiivka-Donetsk line.
