At the same time, a reduction in the activity of Russian invaders was observed in the direction of Bakhmut.
The Ukrainian military has advanced another 450 meters in several positions in the Bakhmut area of the Donetsk region. Sergei Cherevaty, a representative of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the telethon.
At the same time, according to him, a reduction in the activity of Russians is observed in the direction of Bakhmut.
“During our counterattack operations in some positions, our units were able to advance a distance of 350 to 450 meters,” Cherevaty said.
During the day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to kill 54 invaders and injured 84 people. The Defense Forces also managed to destroy the Grad MLRS, three guns, three drones, a 2S4 Tyulpan self-propelled mortar, as well as two field ammunition depots.
The spokesperson added that two combat clashes occurred in the past day, from one to three in the past day.
“This is much less than how the enemy behaved in all the previous months. However, the active intensity remains in terms of fire damage to our positions. The enemy hit our positions with other’ t different systems and calibers 465 times. There were two air raids,” said Cherevaty..
Recall that on May 25, the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced the withdrawal of mercenaries from Bakhmut. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed that the “Wagnerites” began to leave their positions in the suburbs of Bakhmut.
Prigozhin said that after leaving Bakhmut, he would leave most of his private army on Russian territory “to prepare for future tasks.” He did not take for granted that he would once again involve the militants in the war against Ukraine.
