However, this does not mean that Russian troops and mercenaries are weakened. On the contrary, the invaders are trying to strengthen on the flanks and rely on artillery fire, making constant shelling. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar in Telegram.
Also, according to her, units of the defense forces manage to “slowly advance” in this direction. And in the city itself, the number of enemy assault operations has decreased, because the Russians are replacing units.
The Ukrainian military continues to control some part of the “Airplane” area in the southwestern part of the city.
And in the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for May 24, it is reported that the enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts on the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Maryinsky directions. There were 23 combat clashes here.
Planes, helicopters and drones of the Air Force carried out seven strikes per day on areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated. Two enemy Shahed attack drones and an Orlan-10 reconnaissance UAV were also destroyed.
And the missile troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit two areas of concentration of manpower, four ammunition trains, an electronic warfare station, four artillery units in firing positions, and four more important enemy targets.
Recall, on May 23, Russian invaders in the Bakhmut direction tried to attack the village of Khromovo, but the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped the enemy’s advance.
