The parties discussed the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to Europe.
The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky held an online meeting with his Spanish counterpart Luis Planas Puchades. This was reported on May 24 by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Solsky thanked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Kingdom of Spain for his support. In particular, for the fact that Madrid is one of the signatories of the letter from the relevant ministers of 14 EU countries to the European Commission.
Here, the representatives of the Member States expressed concern about the introduction of a temporary ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia and called on the EC to explain the this decision.
For his part, Puchades noted that Spain is closely following developments and is ready to continue supporting Ukraine.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the European Commission for trade and agriculture, Miriam Garcia Ferrer, confirmed that the EC received a letter in May from EU members protesting against the allocation of aid to the five countries.
