Ruslan Stefanchuk said that the training of Ukrainian pilots is the first step, and the second step – the transfer of the aircraft – will be in a few months.
Denmark begins training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft. The head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to him, as part of his visit to Denmark, he held talks about military and financial assistance to Ukraine, in particular, on the issue of supporting the reconstruction of the country.
“The most important thing that we will return from the country (Denmark – ed.) is an agreement that Denmark will start training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft. We fully understand what the first step means This means that literally in a few months, we will be talking about the second step, which will completely stabilize our advantage in the sky, which will help close the sky,” said the head of the parliament.
Stefanchuk added that a few months ago no one believed in the supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, but now Denmark and other countries have expressed their readiness to train Ukrainian pilots.
“This clearly means that in the near future we will be talking about a full-fledged air coalition, which will allow Ukrainians to feel maximum security, which will create an advantage on the front, which will allow us to achieve the main goal – to expel the Russians from Ukraine,” stressed the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada. .
Recall that Acting Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen assured that Denmark will make many efforts to train Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilots.
As you know, on May 19, US President Joe Biden told the G7 leaders that the United States will support efforts to train Ukrainian pilots on modern aircraft, including the F-16.
