Ukraine now has the minimum necessary amount of weapons to launch a counter-offensive. This was stated by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Kirill Budanov, in an interview with the Japanese broadcaster NHK.
“Many civilians are still under Russian occupation and we can’t waste any more time. We already have the minimum weapons and other equipment. All I can say is that it’s about to start,” he said.
According to him, Ukrainian fighters will use all available forces and means to drive Russia out of Ukrainian territories.
He added that a “significant supply of weapons and ammunition” would be needed for a successful operation. The head of the GUR also noted that Ukraine needs fighter jets.
Recall that the third separate assault brigade (3 oshbr) conducted successful offensive operations on the western outskirts of the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region and created a springboard for further counter-offensives.
