Nobel Peace Prize winner Nadezhda Murad came to Ukraine at the invitation of the President’s wife.
First Lady Olena Zelenska met with Nobel Peace Prize winner Nadezhda Murad, who came to Ukraine at her invitation. This was announced on May 23 by the press service of the head of state.
The President’s wife and Prosecutor General Andrey Kostin told the human rights activist about the situation with war crimes committed by the Russian invaders.
It is noted that since the beginning of the full invasion of the Russian Federation, the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine have recorded more than 88 thousand war crimes, including 190 facts of sexual violence.
Zelenska noted that a moral approach to victims is especially important in documenting and investigating, where, in particular, the Code of Murad is used.
The first lady and the human rights activist visited the village of Borodyanka in the Kyiv region, which was under Russian occupation from February 26 to April 1, 2022. Then 162 people died in the Borodyansk community, 28 are missing.
