The reason for this decision is the critical statements of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador about the authorities of the republic.
The Commission on Foreign Affairs of the Congress (Parliament) of Peru has declared Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador as persona non grata because of his critical statements about the authorities of the republic. It was announced on May 23 by the press service of the legislature in Twitter.
“With eleven votes in favor, the International Affairs Commission approved a resolution condemning the statements of Mexican President Andrés López Obrador and declaring him persona non grata,” the statement said.
Then the initiative must be considered by the Congress plenum.
Earlier, Lopez Obrador called the usurper of the President of Peru, Dina Boluarte. He said that Mexico City will not hand over the chairmanship of the Pacific Alliance to Lima. According to the Mexican leader, Boluarte came to power illegally, because the former head of state Pedro Castillo was removed unfairly.
It can be recalled that in December of last year, the Parliament of Peru impeached Castillo for “moral failure.” After a few hours, the politician was detained by the police, by court decision he was placed in a pre-trial detention center.
The former head of state was accused of an attempt on the constitutional order and an attempted coup.
After the politician was ousted from office, large-scale protests began in the country and a state of emergency was declared.
