Fifty militants attacked the wells of MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company near the Afghan border.
Islamist militants have attacked a natural gas and oil plant in northwestern Pakistan, killing four policemen and two security guards. This was reported by Reuters on May 23.
It was learned that around 50 militants attacked the MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company plant in the Ganga region near the Afghan border.
Police reported that boreholes M-8 and M-10 were fired upon by heavy weapons.
“Guards on M-8 repelled the terrorist attack, but there were casualties on M-10,” said police spokesman Irfan Khan.
The militants also destroyed a solar plant before fleeing to nearby North Waziristan, where they came from, he said.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
According to the agency, oil and gas production in Pakistan is falling every year. The country has developed most of the deposits and cannot explore new ones near the Afghan border due to the security situation.
Recall that in April Pakistan ordered the first batch of oil from Russia.
