Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with Indonesian leader Joko Widodo during a visit to Japan to attend the G7 summit. This was announced on May 21 by the press service of the head of state.
Zelensky is said to have briefed Widodo on the progress of the conflict in Ukraine, drawing attention to the dismantling of civilian infrastructure, and also called for help in efforts to return illegally deported Ukrainian children.
In addition, during the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the Ukrainian formula for peace.
The President of Indonesia welcomed the continuation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative and noted the importance of its expansion.
“I am grateful to Joko Widodo for inviting me to attend the G20 summit in November 2022, where the Ukrainian formula for peace was presented to the world, and for his willingness to support efforts to restore Ukraine, especially that in the health care sector,” Zelensky stressed.
Earlier, CNN reported that US President Joe Biden will meet with Zelensky on the sidelines of the G-7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan.
