This package will demonstrate the EU’s long-term commitment to help Ukraine. It is designed for the period after 2023.
The European Union is working on a new multi-year macro-financial assistance package for Ukraine after 2023. This was said by the representative of the head of the European Council, Barend Leitz, according to Ukrinform.
According to him, the head of the Council of the EU Charles Michel, in a meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Hiroshima, said that the European Union is developing a new package of financial assistance after 2023.
Leitz noted that this package reflects the EU’s long-term commitment to help Ukraine. Military aid is also expected to increase, including the delivery of ammunition and the formation of a coalition for the supply of combat aircraft.
According to Leitz, during the meeting with Zelensky, Michel reaffirmed his full support for the initiatives under the Ukrainian peace plan and intends to fully coordinate the next steps in their implementation with the member states of the EU.
At the same time, the EU will work with G7 partners to hit every corner of the Russian economy and ensure that Putin’s “war machine” fails.
It will be recalled that on Saturday, Zelensky and Michel met in the Japanese city of Hiroshima during the G7 summit. One of the topics of the talks was the European integration of Ukraine and the start of negotiations on joining the EU.
