From the night of May 17 to the morning of May 18, Russian troops carried out numerous missile attacks from different directions. In total, 30 missiles were fired at Ukraine, 29 of them were destroyed by air defense, reported the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The strikes were carried out from strategic aircraft (two Tu-160 and eight Tu-95), ships in the Black Sea, and land-based missile systems.
In total, the enemy used 22 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, six Caliber cruise missiles, and two Iskander-K cruise missiles.
“Air defense forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with other parts of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, destroyed 29 cruise missiles. Two attack UAVs Shahed-136/131 and two reconnaissance UAVs (OTR) were also shot,” the order emphasized.
Recall that on the night of May 17, the enemy attacked the Odessa region. Most of the rockets were fired over the sea, but one industrial facility was hit, and one civilian was killed.
