Japan will accept wounded Ukrainian soldiers for treatment and rehabilitation. This was reported by Kyodo.
According to a source in the Japanese government, this decision is a response to Ukraine’s request.
It was learned that next month several Ukrainian soldiers will be admitted to the Central Hospital of the Self-Defense Forces in Tokyo for medical care and physiotherapy.
According to the newspaper, the Japanese government seeks to provide stronger support to Ukraine before the start of the G7 summit, which begins on May 19.
The plan for treating wounded soldiers may be discussed at a meeting between Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada and Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Serhiy Korsunsky on May 18.
It will be recalled that last year the Rada authorized the treatment of the military outside Ukraine during martial law.
Hungary also reportedly said it was treating the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and training Ukrainian doctors.
