The Russians on the night of today, May 17, launched a missile attack on Nikolaev.
The Caliber rocket hit between the building of a car dealership and a shopping and entertainment center, which caused damage to both buildings at once. There was also a hit in an empty building in the industrial part of the city. The head of the Nikolaev OVA Vitaliy Kim spoke about this on the air of one of the Ukrainian TV channels, the Novosti-N publication reports.
According to Kim, there were three “arrivals”, the fire broke out on an area of 100 square meters.
The greatest damage was caused by a rocket that hit between a car dealership and a shopping center. She didn’t even hit the building, they hit between them. There was a fire – the cladding of the building was burning, – Kim noted. – In this car dealership, it was exactly a week ago that MOT took place, I don’t know what they were looking for there.
According to Kim, the reason for the strikes on these facilities is the use by the Russians of new batches of low-quality missiles.
They were all there in August 2022, during the war, they were probably made, the sanctions are working, because they all fly there somehow not very accurately, they fall, because for the second time flying out of four they simply did not fly, ”he noted .
Kim also said that a woman was injured as a result of the shelling.
Fortunately, no casualties. The woman from the blast wave fell, hammered her collarbone. She’s fine,” he said.
The Nikolaev regional prosecutor’s office reports that a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
