A US Patriot anti-aircraft missile system was most likely damaged but not destroyed by Russian rocket attacks on Kyiv on Tuesday night, a US official told CNN.
According to him, the United States is still assessing the extent of the damage and is trying to determine whether it is possible to repair the system on the spot by Ukrainian specialists.
The Russian Ministry of Defense previously stated that “a high-precision strike by a hypersonic missile system” Dagger “hit a US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.”
Ukrainian officials said they had successfully intercepted all six hypersonic missiles fired by the Russians, but declined to comment on the hit on the Patriot complex.
Let’s leave it without comment. We will not comment on Russian sources, – Yuriy Ignat, press attache of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said at a briefing.
Now there are two Patriot complexes in Ukraine: one was transferred to the United States, the other – to Germany and the Netherlands. Which one is possibly damaged is unclear.
