In the first quarter of 2023, the export of goods reached 73.9% compared to the first quarter of 2022.
Ukraine in January-March 2023 exported goods worth $10.3 billion and imported goods worth $15.7 billion. This is reported by the State Statistics Service.
In the first quarter of 2023, the export of goods reached 73.9% compared to the first quarter of 2022, and the import – 110.9%.
The negative balance reached $5.4 billion (in Q1 2022 there was also a negative balance of $208.0 million).
During the reporting period, the export of ferrous metals experienced the largest decrease – by 75.3% compared to last year.
The largest increase in imported goods was recorded in the category of electrical machines (+48.2%).
According to the State Statistics Service, in March 2023 compared to February, seasonally adjusted exports increased by 1.1%, to $3.55 billion, imports decreased by 3.9%, to $5.4 billion. The seasonally adjusted balance of foreign trade in March this year was negative and reached $1.88 billion. In February, the balance was also negative – $2.12 billion.
It will be remembered that the government changed the list of goods, the export and import of which are subject to licensing, and quotas for 2023.
It was also reported that the authorities of Ukraine and the European Union will create a common coordination platform that will deal with problematic issues of agricultural exports.
