In the videos published by NABU, we are talking about the mechanism for transferring funds to Knyazev through lawyers.
After receiving information about the existence of a criminal group in the judicial branch of government and its top leadership, NABU detectives carried out an undercover operation. Thanks to this, it was possible to expose and document a number of episodes of criminal activity, NABU commented on the audio.
It was possible to identify the scheme thanks to the penetration of an undercover NABU detective into the criminal group. And the episode with the remuneration for the Chairman of the Supreme Court is connected with the adoption by the court of a decision in the interests of the owner of the Finance and Credit group.
Recall that on May 16, at a press conference on Tuesday, the Ukrainian security forces announced that Vsevolod Knyazev and another person had been detained. In order to initiate a criminal case against the Chairman of the Supreme Court and arrest him, the consent of the High Council of Justice is needed and the anti-corruption departments intend to send a corresponding appeal there.
They also posted a photo of the seized bribe, a large amount of cash in stacks of $100 bills spread out on a couch.
According to the SAP, it is about the amount of 2.7 million US dollars. Sources of the BBC Ukrainian Service confirm this amount, but indicate that this is not all.
They found so much that what they showed us – far from all, is very impressive, – said the source of the BBC.
On May 16, the Plenum of the Supreme Court expressed no confidence and removed Knyazev from the post of the Supreme Court ahead of schedule.
According to the head of NABU Semyon Krivonos, the leadership of the court could have received a bribe from the owner of the financial group Finance and Credit (it belongs to Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Zhevago) for making a favorable decision for him.
